Neshoba County

Neshoba County, established in 1833 by European settlers, is located in the heart of east-central Mississippi. The county’s name comes from the Choctaw word Nashoba, meaning "wolf," a nod to the region's deep ties to Native American heritage. Known for hosting Mississippi’s iconic Giant House Party, the Neshoba County Fair, this historic event blends family fun, entertainment, and a strong sense of community, attracting visitors from near and far.

Beyond the fair, Neshoba County offers a wealth of recreational opportunities, including the County Coliseum, County Lake, and numerous parks—each providing a space for outdoor activities and relaxation. With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Neshoba County is a destination that promises something for everyone.

Philadelphia

Philadelphia, the county seat of Neshoba, was founded in 1903 and proudly bears the name of its namesake, the City of Brotherly Love—Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Known for its perfect blend of small-town charm and modern conveniences, Philadelphia offers both residents and visitors a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. Explore our historic downtown, enjoy the quaint, locally-owned shops, and immerse yourself in the vibrant annual events that bring the community together.

This charming Southern hub is also home to two country music legends, Marty Stuart and Hardy, adding to the city’s rich cultural fabric. Whether you're here to experience our warm hospitality, local culture, or just to enjoy the relaxed pace of life, Philadelphia is a place where you’re always treated like family.

Choctaw

The town of Choctaw is nestled partially within the Pearl River Community, the headquarters of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Tribal Government. As the state’s only federally recognized tribe, the Choctaw have called this region home for centuries, with their rich cultural heritage playing a vital role in shaping the community.

The Mississippi Choctaw continue to be a cornerstone of the area's cultural and economic life. Pearl River Resort, situated on tribal land, draws visitors from across the Southeast, offering world-class entertainment and hospitality. Meanwhile, the Choctaw Indian Fair celebrates the tribe’s traditions through vibrant dances, handcrafted goods, and traditional foods, providing a window into the proud heritage of the Choctaw people.
